At Top Dollar Metal Recyclers, we believe in fairness, transparency, and respectful service—every time.
We know grading scrap metal can be tricky, especially when loads have mixed materials. That’s why we’ve developed a clear and consistent approach, so you always know what to expect when you visit us.
How We Grade Mixed Loads
Sometimes a load contains a mix of different types of metal. Here’s how we handle it: Contamination Level What Happens
Less than 5% – You get full price – no change.
5% to 25% – We’ll let you know and make a small adjustment to cover sorting.
25% to 35% – We’ll treat it as a mixed load and price it midway between the top and bottom rates.
Over 35% – The load will be graded at the lowest material price.
What Happens if There’s a Disagreement?
If you don’t agree with how your load was graded, no stress — we’ll walk through it with you in a calm, respectful way.

We’ll explain our grading clearly and you're welcome to speak with a supervisor at any time.
We’re confident but fair.
We’ll explain the reasoning behind your grading — especially if you’re new to scrapping — but we’ll never talk down to you.

Just straight-up, honest communication. We’ll treat you with the same respect we’d expect ourselves.
Need a second opinion? No problem.
We’ll happily get a second staff member involved — in front of you — so you know the process is transparent.
We use photos and video.
Our team takes clear pictures, and you're welcome to do the same. This helps if you’d like to follow up later.
We’ll work toward a solution.
If you’re not happy with the outcome, we’ll offer fair options — including adjusting price or weight, or even reloading your material at no cost if we can’t reach an agreement.
